final

Overall i think that my media studies coursework has turned out really well and i am pleased with it all. I managed to sort out the errors and just kept working at it and the work payed off. I have leart a lot over the past few months and it has helped my skills a lot.

images

The next image i used was on my double page spread, i chose just a simple body shot image to be placed just next to the interview to clearly show the readers who the magazine was interviewing. The image shown above was the original photograph but then to make it look more professional i cut around the image in photoshop and placed it onto a white background which in the end looked effective because the background on the article was also white so the photograph just fit in well.

The main photograph i included was on the front cover, i made it so that it was also black and white but this time with a black background to fit the colours on the page which were black red and white, i chose these colours because i thought they were the most appropriate for the genre i was focusing on.

Making my final designs took weeks to complete but was worth it all in the end, i learnt a lot whilst creating them, using indesign(ID) and also Photoshop. Learning new techniques on photoshop and just starting from scratch when using ID, this was a really good experience but also challenging at the same time.

For my final designs i took a series of pictures and chose the best three out of the lot that would sum up a recording artist of the 'indie' genre, the pictures i chose are shown above. I cropped the images and converted them into black and white for a more magazine style/professional look.

After completing my questionnaire and handing them out to my audience, i recieved and read the results and found out that they were all possitive it connection to my music magazine.

It was very helpful to see what the public thought about music magazines and how much they would pay for one etc...
These resulta helped me a lot to create my magazine, it helped me because i knew what the public would want in a magazine and what the majority of them were interested in, if they were interested in music at all. Knowing if they were interested in finding out about new artists was interesting to know so that i new to include this in my magazine and the same for the other subjects brought up in the questionnaire.

Overall this part of my work helped me a lot and turned out to be very successful.
